How do fat dissolving injections work?

We are all born with a predetermined number of fat cells which we are unable to make more of after birth. Once a fat cell is removed from the body, either by direct removal (liposuction) or by destroying the cell (lipolysis), it cannot come back. Fat dissolving injections work by breaking down cell membranes to liquify the targeted fat cells. This destroys the cells permanently, allowing your lymphatic system to expel it safely and naturally from the body. Since your body will not regenerate these fat cells, the results of the treatment are permanent.

What can I expect during my treatment?

After your free consultation, a fully qualified medical professional will mark out the area of concern and anaesthetise the skin using a topical numbing cream. Once numb, a very small needle is used to inject small quantities of the product into the fat under the skin. The whole treatment takes around 30 minutes.

Is the treatment painful?

As the skin is numbed before the treatment, the treatment is pain-free for most clients. You may feel a mild stinging sensation upon injection but this will quickly subside. In the days following the treatment, you may experience some tenderness or swelling. This is easily relieved with ice packs or paracetamol.

Are there any side effects?

Some clients might experience a mild swelling, redness or bruising in the treated area. This is completely normal and will last for no more than 5 days. Icing the treated area can help to relieve these mild side effects quickly.

When will I see results?

Many of our clients see a visible improvement within just 2 to 3 weeks of their first treatment. For more dramatic results, a second or third treatment session may be required. The results of your fat dissolving injections will be permanent.
